Rewild School (vol. 5, no. 4)

Rewild School comes out tomorrow!

However, as a subscriber to this newsletter, you can buy a copy today!

Here are a few things I’m sharing this month:

1. Question I’m living with:

  • “What if the valedictory speech at graduation wasn’t delivered by the student with the highest GPA but by the student who dared to step into the cave of their whispering fears to meet their Vader?” – Rewild School p. 40

2. Quote I’m considering:

  • “In this book, I have talked a lot about fear, my fears, and those of my students. Our fears played an integral part in bringing us to the edge of liminality, that severe and uneasy between space—that mythological place of transition where who we were told to be clashes with who we were born to be—that place of self-education, self-schooling, and internal excavation—that place where we get to choose growth and change and emerge into whole, vital human beings. But love, our love for one another, gave us the courage to step into the wilderness and take up the chase. It was love that gave us the courage to metaphorically die and end our attachment to the person we were supposed to be and embrace becoming the person we were born to be.” – Rewild School p. 330

3. Poem I’m pondering (from Rewild School):

No matter the wounds, there will be many.

No matter the shame, they will be varied.

No matter the thresholds you meet—climb, cross, leap.

Step into and through. Pursue:

Your why. Your purpose. Both can be yours—

shimmering and radiant—if you chase them.

So, chase.

4. Something inspiring:

5. A couple favors to ask:

  • Would you kindly share Rewild School (www.rewild.school) with three people?
  • Would you kindly introduce me to any podcast hosts, newsletter publishers, book reviewers, or bloggers you know who might be interested in featuring Rewild School?

Thanks so much. And, have a great day! – shawn
