IMAGINE

IMAGINE a place where you are free to be.

Show up imperfect.

Incomplete.

Stand up.

Say what you have to say.

And, even though your voice is shaking, know that it’s okay.

IMAGINE a place bursting with authenticity, vulnerability and trust.

A place where you are enough.

A place where all of us freely acknowledge.

That we too are still struggling to figure it out.

Who we are.

What this world is all about.

We too.

All of us.

Are still in the midst.

Of becoming.

Bit by bit.

Better versions of ourselves.

IMAGINE a place overflowing with inspiration.

Innovation.

Ideation.

Change.

Diversity.

Difference.

Bristling with hope again.

IMAGINE a place full of laughter, dance and poetry slams.

Love.

Life.

And, happiness.

IMAGINE a place where learning is more valuable than knowing.

Questions more than answers.

And, saying “I do not know” is not the ending but the beginning of a conversation.

Full of nuance.

Complexity.

And, systems thinking.

IMAGINE a place abundant with two-arm hugs and handshakes.

Bridges.

Opened gates.

“Welcome” Mats.

Smiles.

Waves.

Come on ins.

IMAGINE a place where the circle always widens so you can sit in.

Join with others.

Convene.

Connect.

Think big.

Catalyzing.

Bold.

Unreasonable.

Idealistic thoughts.

Or, simply sit.

Listen.

Be.

And, enjoy the reverberating energy that attends “combinatorial creativity”.

IMAGINE a place where you can gather to build a world that is more.

More just.

More livable.

And, not just for you.

And, not just for me.

But, for every living thing.

Full of dignity.

Equal access.

Opportunity.

IMAGINE a place populated with people who are clear-eyed.

Not naive.

Who know.

Understand.

Change is an obstacle-ridden-long-term-incremental-political-process.

Who know that it is gonna take all of us.

A diverse-intergenerational-coalition-of-kick-ass-human-beings.

Who know that it is a life-time’s work.

And, who state.

Right here.

Right now.

That we are committed.

Even when we’re elderly we’ll still be planting trees.

IMAGINE a place where the only bias is for action.

And, the “S” on our chests stands for “Solidarity” not “Superman”.

We did.
